William Bernard Schick, age 64 years, a resident of this area for over 35 years, died Saturday evening January 24th, 2015, after several days in a coma. He was surrounded by family during his peaceful passing.
Raised in New York City, Bill was the son of the late George and Lora Schick. He married Deborah Ann Powers in 1972, and raised two sons that were a great pride to him. He served as Exalted Ruler for the Montpelier Lodge of Elks #924, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For nearly 30 years, Bill faithfully worked as a rehabilitation consultant helping injured people get back to work.
Bill will be especially remembered for his wit and always had a kind word or bit of humor to bring a smile. He had a passion for music and singing, and played guitar and keyboard in many bands throughout the years. Grandpa Schick loved sharing photos of his grandchildren and watching them grow and play.
Bill leaves his son, Bill Schick and his wife Christine Schick of Merrimack, New Hampshire; his son Jon Schick and his wife Jaime Schick of Malden, Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Liam, Gavin and Elora Schick; ex-wife Deborah Schick of Brattleboro, VT as well as several brother and sister in-laws.
Friends and family are invited to the funeral service on Saturday, January 31st, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at The Guare & Sons/ Barber & Lanier Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier. Calling hours will precede the service from noon until 2:00.
