Obituary

Wayne L. Richardson, 84, of Route 12, Worcester, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the comfort of his home.. He was born February 8, 1928 in Worcester, VT, the son of Nathan G. and Beatrice (Wood) Richardson. He attended Worcester school and following his education he enlisted in the United States Army. Wayne served during World War 2 in the European Theater of Operations where he served until his honorable discharge in 1949. After returning home from service, Wayne married Delphia Ovitt in 1950 and later he married Phyllis Green in 1957. In 1976, he married Dolena Dailey in Montpelier, who survives him. Wayne worked many years in farming and logging. He enjoyed working with his Wood Mizer portable sawmill and received a plaque from the company for recognition of cutting 1 million board feet of lumber. Wayne obtained his solo pilot's license and enjoyed his time flying and going on helicopter rides. He was a truck driver for Maxham Fur Farms, Kelly Construction, Maxham Supply Company, Maxham Animal Food, Inc., and Worcester Leasing Company and served as the Road Commissioner of Worcester. He also was a co-owner of Wayne Richardson Sand & Gravel Company and Twin City Wells and years ago he picked-up and delivered milk. He was a member of the North Branch Grange #483 and the Worcester United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dolly of Worcester; sons, Nathan Richardson & Debbie of Chesterville, Maine; Michael Richardson & Ann of Skowhegan, Maine; Randy Richardson Elizabeth of Bremerton, Washington; Patrick Richardson and his wife, Lana of Harrison, Maine; daughters, Carol Richardson of Alburg, VT; Ruby Gale Ouellette and her husband, Leo of Skowhegan, Maine; Barbara Pomelow and her husband, Doug of Exeter Maine; and April Hertlien and her husband, George of Cornville, Maine; step-daughter, Dot Davy and her husband, James of Worcester; and step-son, Don Spear and his wife, Sandra of Ashville, NC; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a daughter, Susan Richardson; great-grandson, Dustin; his parents, step-father, Clayton Brown; infant brother, Robert and step-brother, Lester Brown. Calling hours will be held on 6-8 PM, Thursday, Jan 24th at Guare & Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, at Worcester United Methodist Church.
