Warren "Patrick" Yaeger, 82, of Shady Rill Road died on Tuesday, July 4th 2017 at the Berlin Health & Rehab Center.
He was born in Cleveland, OH, the son of Alfred and Ruth (Gilland) Yaeger. He attended schools in Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1953. He later received a Bachelor's Degree from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH.
On February 16, 1971, he married Marie Menard at St. Theresa's in Hyde Park, VT.
Patrick was a salesman for several companies in the area, including Diane Dion Motors and Signal Engineering.
Some of Patrick's greatest joys were exploring the rich history of Vermont, including; visiting old cellar holes, local mines, historical cemeteries, and hiking the trails around Vermont. He wrote a book, "That Beautiful Vale Above the Falls" about the Little River region in Waterbury, and the vibrant community that was once there. Patrick also volunteered many hours to the Vermont Historical Society in Barre, and spent many hours at local libraries and state departments researching Vermont's history.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Yaeger of Middlesex, VT; daughters, Mary Yaeger of Arkansas, and Ann Skinner of Virginia; sons, Patrick Yaeger, JR of Texas, and Joseph Yaeger of East Montpelier, VT; sisters, Susan Dyke of Colorado, and Ruthann Yaeger of Minnesota; five grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held on 10:00 am on Thursday, July 13 at St. Monica's Church in Barre.
