Montpelier
Verna Annette Pelletier, 94 a long-time resident of Montpelier left for the Bingo parlor in the sky on March 1, 2011.
Born on August 15, 1916 to Blanche Kirby and Fred Crane.
Her hobbies included playing cards, bingo, going to fairs and traveling. She especially enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii. She had a passion for purple and spending time with her family and friends.
On October 31, 1966, she married Robert Pelletier. They owned and operated several businesses in the area including "The Miss Montpelier Diner". She eventually worked at the Vermont State Hospital until her retirement. They maintained their home in Montpelier until his death in 1987.
She is survived by daughters, Betsy & husband Stephen Kelty Sr., of East Barre, Patricia Brooks of Barre, and Pauline & husband Leslie Smith of Williamstown. Sons, Robert & wife Helen Whalen of Keene, NH, Edward Dunn & his partner, Michael Shumway of Williamstown, Step-son, Charles & his wife Kathy Pelletier of Montpelier.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert, her brother Godfrey, son Royce, daughters Barbara and Paula and grandson Sean.
She leaves behind a legacy of great work ethics and humor to her 8 children, 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

A gathering of remembrance will be held at the Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier Vermont, Friday, March 4th, beginning at 7:00 pm.
