Montpelier, VT Theresa Mae Stearns, 84, of Ewing Street died at her home on Sunday, September 9, 2012. She was born on May 25, 1928 in New Haven, VT, the daughter of Robert and Irene (Grant) Varney. She worked as a self employed housekeeper, working for various families in Montpelier. On October 14, 1950, she married Laurice F. Stearns, Jr. in Montpelier. Mr. Stearns predeceased her on December 20, 1983. She is survived by her children, Patricia Lesure of Barre, VT and Douglas Stearns of Montpelier; a sister, Emma Savard of Merritt Island, FL; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and a daughter, Barbara Lafountain. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
