Sgt Major (Retired) Steven J. Omasta of East Montpelier died on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He was a 28 year career Special Forces soldier who was a much loved friend and neighbor and will be remembered for always being there when someone needed help. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karin Omasta; and sons, Steven Omasta II and his wife Melanie and their daughter Callie of Munice, IN, and Patrick D. Omasta and his wife Elizabeth and their son, Paxton; sisters, Elinor Clark and her husband Gaylord of Paceson, AZ and Christina Bostian of Atlanta, GA; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his Parents and his brother S. Herbert Omasta. There will be a celebration of life at 2:00PM on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Old Meeting House Church.
