Berlin, VT Stella May (Powers) Barteau, 97, of Berlin, VT, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021, at Berlin Health and Rehab. Stella was born in Brownington, VT, on December 31, 1923. Later, she moved closer to Central Vermont where she would attend Northfield High School. After high school, Stella married the love of her life, Carl Barteau. Together, they had three children- Dorothy Johnson, and Carl Barteau, and Linda Elbe. She was always such a hard worker, and ended up working in sales for Barteau's Inc. When Stella was not working, she could be found in her garden and tending to her beautiful flowers as this brought her so much happiness. Stella had a love for bingo as well. When the time of year was right, she would be in the woods deer hunting, or on the lake fishing. Hunting and fishing were her true passions for enjoying the great outdoors. Stella was predeceased by her husband Carl and her daughter Linda Elbe. Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Texas, her son Carl Barteau of California, and her son-in-law, Robert Elbe. Stella also has six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no services at this time. A service for Stella will be held at a later date.
