Stanley Rupert Scribner, 80, of River Road, Moretown passed away Wednesday evening, July 9, 2014 at home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, July 12th at the Middlesex United Methodist Church. A reception will follow the service.
Stanley grew up on a farm in Johnson. At 10 years of age the family moved to Bridport to continue farming. In 1955 him and his wife Catherine began their life together on a farm in Waterbury Center. In 1958 they moved to Moretown to continue farming and raise their family. His family, cows and his crops were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; his children, Stanley Scribner Jr. of Middlesex; Stephen Scribner of Middlesex; Mary Jo Davis of Moretown; and Edward Scribner of Alaska; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and his herd of Holsteins. He is also survived by his brother Reginald Scribner and his wife, Marjorie of West Rutland; and a sister, Audrey Marshia and her husband, Stanley of Morrisville.
He was predeceased by his brother, Roger Scribner.
