Simone A. Emmons, 84, of Paine Turnpike North, Berlin died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Central Vermont Hospital.
She was born in Barre, VT on December 1, 1927 the daughter of Louis & Jeanne (Therien) Boutin.
Simone was married to Raymond Frederick Emmons on February 26, 1949 at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Barre. Mr. Emmons predeceased her on July 3, 1995.
Simone was employed as a cook in the Central Vermont Area including the former Paul's (Redmond) Bakery, State House Cafeteria and for many years she worked at the Wayside Restaurant retiring in the early 1990's.
She was a member of St. Monica's Church.
Simone enjoyed most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending time with family and friends at the camp on Groton Pond. She was a Nascar buff and she enjoyed being at home and working on crossword puzzles. Simone worked for many years for the Town of Berlin on Town Meeting Day.
She is survived by 2 sons, Douglas C. Emmons and his wife, Jacquelyn of Berlin; and Michael and his wife, Linda of Northfield, VT; and a sister, Theresa Bergeron of Jericho, VT whom Ray & Simone raised as a daughter, six grandchildren, Brian Emmons and wife Linda, Kevin Emmons, Kara (Emmons) Bissonnette and husband Matthew, Joshua Emmons and wife Elizabeth, Matthew White and wife Mandy, and Chad White; eight great grandchildren, Miles Emmons, Preston Emmons, Leah Emmons, Sylvia Emmons, Kyla White, Kyra White , Jordan White and Landon Bissonnette.
Simone is also survived by her siblings, Jeannette Rouleau of Barre; Theresa Bergeron of Jericho, VT; Robert Boutin of Brookfield, VT; and Gerard Boutin of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a close friend, Grace Rose with whom she enjoyed spending time with, and the many things they shared together.
She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Jacqueline Martineau.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13th at Guare & Sons Funeral Home.
Calling hours will from 9:00 am until the hour of the funeral service.
Burial will follow the service at Berlin Corners Cemetery.
