ShirleyAnne Himes, 83, of Calais died peacefully at her home on March 21, 2014 after a brief illness.
She was born May 24, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Olaf Johnson and Charlotte (Acherman) Johnson.
ShirleyAnne attended schools in Oceanside, Long Island, NY and received a Masters Degree in Education from Johnson State College.
She was married to Ralph E. Himes in February 19, 1949 in Ocean Side, New York.
ShirleyAnne was a long time teacher at the former St. Michaels Graded School in Montpelier, Vermont, where she taught kindergarten and first grade, from 1967 to 2002. She was a member of St. Augustine Church, also in Montpelier.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah M. Craig, and her husband, Jeffrey; and her son, David J. Himes and his wife, Gina; all of Woodbury; grandchildren, Joshua D. Leno, Amy E. Leno Noyes and her husband Michael; Christian T. Leno and his wife, Kylie; and Jeremiah D. Himes; great grandchildren, Grayden and Adeline Noyes, Zander Leno, and Maggie Himes; former son-in-law, Thomas Leno and his wife, Becky.
ShirleyAnne was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, who died November 7, 1993, and her sister, Cecilia Albert Dojohn, who died April 28, 1995.
There will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 5th at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Montpelier, Vermont.
