Shirley (Davenport) Wiedenmayer, 90, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at Central Vermont Medical Center.
Born May 23, 1923 to Leonard Davenport and Lena (Ackley) Davenport, Shirley was raised in Mount Holly, Vermont with her sisters Lula and Evelyn. She then moved to Wallingford where she married Donald Wiedenmayer in 1963. They moved that year to Worcester, Vermont where they lived for 50 years. Donald died November 21, 2013.
Shirley loved to cook, ski, golf and knit. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as treasurer for many years. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her was touched by her kindness, warmth and generosity. Being a grandmother was what she enjoyed most.
She is survived by her daughters Ellen Davenport, Lisa Thorn and husband Robert and Carla Garvey and husband James. Grandchildren Kevin Darkmoor and wife Mary, Melanie Ricker and husband Shawn, Benjamin Mason and wife Jessica, Joshua Mason, John Hagan, Matthew Fagginger-Auer and wife Sarah, Erich Fagginger-Auer and wife Angela, Benjamin Thorn and wife Lynn. Great grandchildren Zachary Ricker, Kyle Mason, and Henry Fagginger-Auer.
Interment will be in the spring at the Green Hill Cemetery in Wallingford, Vermont.
