Obituary

Sheldon H. Miller born June 2, 1926, the son of Webster and Eleanora Mills Miller, died July 25th, 2019 at The Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. He is survived by three sons: Steven and wife Becky, Ricker and wife Lisa, and Kenneth and partner Kathy Price; and grandson Colby and wife Mimi. Shelly married Sybil Dodge on November 13, 1960. He has two step-children: Carol Robinson and Brooks Robinson, both of Calais; and a step-grandson, Nathaniel Robinson, who lived with Gramp and Gram through his high school and college years. Sheldon was predeceased by his brother, Evan Miller, and sister, Charlotte Karr. Sister-in-law, Gloria Miller, and nieces and nephews live in the Montpelier area. Sheldon was a Vermont Highway Engineer employed by the state for 35 years. He was a fluent artist appreciated by many who received his witty and clever Christmas cards for 35 years. He also contributed to Vermont Life Magazine. Shelly was a lover of nature and depicted scenes of the ocean where he spent summers as a young person, Vermont hills and streams where he fished and hunted with great success, and "Woodbury Park," his own piece of nature where he often walked. He was on the Mad River Ski Patrol for many years. Many of his good friends, including Peter Sykas and "Fuzz" Taylor predeceased him.
