Shawn Pfeiffer was born in Garden City, Kansas on October 13, 1984, and departed this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on March 16, 2020.
Shawn's 35-years on this earth was not always easy. Placed in foster care at age six, he spent the next four years moving from foster home to foster home. At 10, he was placed at Spofford Home for Children in Kansas City, Missouri, a short-term facility for troubled children. He later moved to The Villages in Topeka, Kansas, a permanent group home where he lived until he was adopted by his mother, Brenda Poor, and moved to Shawnee, Kansas.
He briefly attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
Through Facebook, Shawn connected with his birth father, Michael Pfeiffer, and moved to Vermont about 10 years ago to regain a relationship kept from both of them.
Let's be honest. If you knew Shawn, you knew he was stubborn and could be frustrating. He was smart, and he LOVED to argue.
Although he could be very maddening, he was also very likeable. He never met a stranger, and was at ease talking to anyone, genuinely interested in getting to know them. He could be a good guy with a good heart.
Despite the horrible start to his life, Shawn wasn't bitter about it, and still found a way to love others.
Shawn is survived by his young daughter, Aubreigh, who was his whole life. He was a wonderful and loving father, and she was the joy of his life.
Shawn also leaves behind his father, Michael Pfeiffer and girlfriend, Gloria Judd of Derby, VT; his mother Brenda Poor of Shawnee, KS; brother Jerry Pfeiffer of Newport, VT; girlfriend Samantha Lee Reed of Barre, VT; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Vermont, Michigan, Virginia, and Massachusetts; as well as many friends spread out across the country.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, there will not be a funeral service.
