Paid obituary w/ picture Times Argus East Montpelier, VT Shawn Michael Healy, 68, of Northwood Apartments, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at his home. He was born in Rutland, VT on August 5, 1950, the son of Charles and Carmelita (Murray) Healy. He attended St. Michaels High School but graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1968. He later went on to receive his Bachelors degree from Norwich University. On September 8, 1979, Shawn married Mina Larson in Wayzata, Minnesota. Mina predeceased him on November 28, 2015. Shawn enlisted and served in the United States Army. He was later honorably discharge. Serving in the Military afforded him to travel the world. Shawn worked many jobs throughout his life, but he most enjoyed coaching and umpiring various sport, including Softball, Basketball, Flag Football, and Little League baseball to the many children who grew up in Central Vermont. Shawn was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post 3, where he enjoyed playing bingo with his friends. Survivors include his daughter Sara Chase and her husband Adam of Barre Town; grandson, Liam of Barre Town; brothers, Patrick Healy of Marshfield, Timothy Healy of Roxbury, and Michael Healy of Barre; sister, Lauren Bell of Minnesota. There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
