Paid obituary Times Argus Montpelier, VT Sara S.Gingras-Rochefort, 94, formerly of Freedom Drive, died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Woodridge Nursing Home with her family at her side. She was born on January 29, 1918, the daughter of Jose and Soledad (Olavarri) Sancibrian in Barre, VT. She attended Barre Schools and graduated as an honor student from Spaulding High School in 1936. Sara was employed by the Vermont Unemployment Compensation Department in Montpelier. She was married to Adrian J. Gingras on June 13, 1938. Mr. Gingras predeceased her in October of 1973. Together they ran the Capital Travel Agency. She continued running the business until her retirement. Sara was later married to Arthur Rochefort. After being together for nearly 30 years, they exchanged vows on November 2, 2002. Mr. Rochefort predeceased her on August 29, 2011. She was a former member of the Canadian Club in Barre as well as the Montpelier and Barre Elks Club. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Shipman of Bristol, CT and Margo Penniman and her husband, Kingman Penniman, of West Berlin and; and son, Michael Gingras of Burlington, VT. She is also survived by three grand children, three great grand children, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Feliciano, Francisco, Pilar, Ricardo, Jose and Elisa. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Hope Cemetery in Barre, VT. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodridge Nursing Home.
