Barre, VT Ruth Sinclair Friot passed away early Friday February 8, 2008 in Rowan Court Health and Rehab after a long illness. Ruth was born on December 29, 1943 in Montpelier, VT. She was the daughter of the late Frank Arndt Sinclair and the late Anne Pierson Sinclair. Ruth graduated from Twinfield High School in Marshfield, VT. She worked for the State of Vermont for many years, in the Social Welfare Department and in the Department of Education and Training. In 1997 she retired from a long career as a Psychiatric Aid at the Vermont State Hospital. She will be remembered dearly for her loving devotion to her children and her selflessness in caring for those who were in need. Ruth had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be thought of fondly by all the staff at Rowan Court Health and Rehab and at FAHC Dialysis Unit at CVH. Ruth is survived by her sons Richard and Randall of Berlin, VT., as well as 2 grandsons and one granddaughter. She was predeceased by one son Ritchie. Other survivors are her sisters Martha Belanger and her husband Renfield of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Nancy Bailey of Barre, VT, and Carol Sinclair of South Burlington, VT; nephew Jay Bailey and his wife Sheila of Barre, VT.; cousin George Stevens and his wife Sheila of Milton, VT. Ruth was a beloved daughter, sister, significant other, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Some of her favorite things were country music, laughing with others, enjoying her children and grandchildren, her work, the movie 'Forest Gump', shopping, traveling to Montreal, beating people at Scrabble, and picking up the greeting of "Hey"!
