Ruth A. Damon, 92, formerly of Court Street, Montpelier died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Heaton Woods where she lived for the past few years. She was born in Sudbury, VT on September 9, 1921 the daughter of William and Esther (Cook) Damon. Ruth was a graduate of Brandon High School, Castleton Normal School and the University of Vermont. She taught in elementary schools in Norwich, Leicester, Windsor, and Montpelier. Ruth is survived by a niece, Cynthia Crooks and her husband, Ronald and their daughter, Rachel of Katy Texas; nephew, William Damon and his wife, Cynthia of Moraga, CA; nephew, Lloyd Damon and his wife, Teresa and their daughter, Lauren of Burlingame, CA. At Ruth's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, East Middlebury. Vermont.
