Montpelier, VT Ruby Stewart Pine, 94, formerly a longtime resident of Cliff Street, Montpelier died Tuesday December 18, 2007 at Lincoln House in Barre with her loving family at her side . Mrs. Pine was born June 26, 1913, the daughter of George W. and Eliza (Roberts) Stewart. She was educated in the Berlin Grade School and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1931. She was married to Norman K. Pine on November 25, 1935 in St. Augustine Church by the Rev. William Ready. Mr. Pine died November 23, 1996. In 1976 Mrs. Pine retired from the State of Vermont Department of Corrections, where she was employed for many years as Secretary to the Director of Probation and Parole. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the VT Retired State Employees Association. Mrs. Pine is survived by nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Susan Pine LaGasse, a brother, Wayne G. Stewart, and two sisters, Evelyn Adams and Eileen O'Brien are deceased. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Augustine Catholic Church on 11:00 AM, Friday, December 21, 2007. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the spring in the Stewart family lot in Berlin Corners Cemetery.
