Obituary

Rose "Rosie" Marie Ainsworth, 56, of Three Mile Bridge Road, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Rosie was born in St. Albans, Vermont on February 11, 1953. She was raised in Enosburg Falls, Vermont by her parents Charles and Madeline (Lackey) Burns. Rosie met the love of her life, Peter Ainsworth of Middlesex, Vermont through her sister, Irene and Wilfred Bedore. Pete and Rosie later married on July 10, 1971. Rosie always put her family first. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother with a great sense of humor. If you came to visit, you better be prepared to be "picked on." She had a nickname for many family members and close friends. She was very passionate about several things including: her grandchildren, her son's racing career, and the family business, Pete's Auto where she was known as "the boss". When Rosie wasn't working in the shop, playing with her granddaughters, or rooting her son on at Thunder Road, you could find her cooking great meals in the kitchen, growing beautiful roses in her gardens, or decorating the house for the holidays. Rosie is survived by her husband of 39 years, Peter of Middlesex; her daughter Nichole Hallock and her husband Brad of Williamstown, their daughters Emma-Lee and Elizabeth; her son Peter Ainsworth, Jr. and his wife Mary Jane of Berlin; her six sisters: Elizabeth Billow and her companion Gordon Thompson of Enosburg Falls, Irene Bedore and her husband Wilfred of Berlin, Theresa Gilbar and her husband Sherman of Richford, Bonnie Winot and her husband Ronnie of Enosburg Falls, Joyce Ouellette and her husband Joe of Milton, Brenda Jewett and her husband Michael of Richford; her three brothers: Robert Burns and his companion Mary Babb of Enosburg Falls, Jim Burns and his wife Dale of Enosburg Falls, Bradley Burns and his companion Tracey Ingel of Enosburg Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by her parents Charles and Madeline Burns, her son Wendell Ainsworth, her brother David Burns and his wife Claire. There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Montpelier. A reception will follow after the Mass in the parish hall. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Fletcher Allen Health Care Cardiology Intensive Care Unit (McClure 4) or Chaplin Services 111 Colchester Avenue Burlington, VT 05401; St. Augustine's Catholic Church 16 Barre St. Montpelier, VT 05602.
