Ronald G
Sarquiz
August 9, 1961 – May 23, 2026
Randolph-It is with great shock and sadness that we share the news of Ron Sarquiz’s unexpected death on May 23. 2026. He died of complications related to a heart attack.
Ron will be remembered most for the way he approached life – with passion, intensity and zest. He was a spiritual seeker who embraced the mysteries of life. He was an active participant in the early days of Men Alive, a men’s community organization in Vermont. He enjoyed his work as a psychotherapist and cherished his connections with friends and family.
Ron was born in California and made his way to Vermont in his 20’s. He returned to higher education and was proud of earning his graduate degree from Antioch New England College in Counseling Psychology. While attending Antioch, he also chose to marry and raise a family.
Ron was a natural athlete. He played baseball, tennis, enjoyed hiking, backpacking and biking. He happily made his way to playing pickleball where he became part of a strong community. He was a beloved player and is fondly remembered for his boisterous voice and kind soul.
Ron moved to Randolph Vermont five years ago and created a new community. While living in Randoph, he found solace being close to nature. Ron was fortunate to experience peace towards the end of his life. The people closest to him noticed a shift in his appreciation of the beauty of the seasons, the rhythm of his days and the contentment of watching his family grow and change. He was especially proud of his daughter Fern, and the generosity of her heart and spirit.
Ron is survived by his daughter Fern, her mother Michelle, his son Ron, his mother Laura; his sister Pam and her son, Dylan; his brother Rich and his daughters, Sarah and Ashley and her husband Jacob and their children, Sloane and Hayes. He also leaves behind other family members, including his father Ron. He will also be missed by many friends who were like family, especially his close friend Steve.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at the Chandler Center for the Arts in Randoph in the Esther Mesh Room on Saturday September 12th, from 1-4. All are welcome
In lieu of flowers, donations on behalf of Ron can be made to St. John’s Church to help support their small shelter for the unhoused In Randolph Vermont. Checks can be sent to St. John’s Church Emergency Fund, POBox 278, Randolph, VT 05060.
