IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald
Dion, Sr.
April 2, 1941 – September 11, 2025
Berlin, VT
Ronald Dion, 84, passed away on September 11, 2025 at the Berlin Health and Rehab Center. A lifelong resident of Berlin, VT, Ron was a dedicated family man, husband, father, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
Born on April 2, 1941, the son of Adrien and Camilia (Chaloux) Dion. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1959 and he went on to marry Denise Laprise in 1970, and together they built a loving home filled with joy and laughter.
In 1968, Ron began his journey in dairy farming, a vocation he pursued for 17 years. He could quite literally fix anything that needed repair. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. After retiring from farming, he returned to work at Rossi Trucking, where he remained until he finally retired. In his later years, he found joy in spending time with family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his son, Shawn, sharing his wisdom and hands-on expertise with equipment repair. He loved his St. Augustine friends and spent years coordinating the ushers for Saturday evening mass.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his daughter, Cindy Noyes, her husband, Michael Noyes; his sons, Ronald Dion, Jr. and his wife, Arta Dion, and Shawn Dion and his girlfriend, Jessica Pinkans; and his grandchildren, Elena and Grace Noyes. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Dion, and sister-in-law, Joyce Dion; and many beloved nieces and nephews and his former sister in-law, Jean Ferrar.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Guy Dion, Guy's partner, Cora Joeckel, and sister, Jeannine Abare and her husband, Thomas Abare.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church on September 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, committal prayers will be offered at the Berlin Corner Cemetery.
Ron's legacy of kindness, hard work, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In honor of his memory, let us come together to celebrate the beautiful life he lived.
