"Bob", age 69, died peacefully April 26, 2008, at the Palm Beach County Hopice at JFK, after a valiant battle with Cancer.
Bob was born in Montpelier Vermont, the son of Robert E. and Angeles O'Grady. He graduated from Saint Michaels High School in Montpelier, class of '58, attended Springfield College, Springfield MA, and graduated Saint Francis School of Radiology, Hartford CT.
He spent 35 years with the Department of Public Health in Vermont, and retired as Director of Environmental Health and Epidemiology. He was responsible for eleven state-wide programs: Tuberculosis, STD, AIDS, Rabies, Childhood Immunization, Food and Water-born outbreak investigations, Occupational Health, Emergency Medical service, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Toxic Risk Assessment, Food and Lodging Inspection and Licensing.
He was a Member of the Atlantis Golf Club, Florida since 2002 where he served on the Board and Membership Committee. member of Atlantis Country Club, Florida,1999 - 2001 Member of St. Johnsbury Country Club, VT, past Member of Montpelier Country Club of VT, Member of Wellington Country Club 1997 1998, Member of Montpelier Elks Club - 46 years.
Bob was a 30 year member and Past Presiden & Chairman of the Board of American Lung Association of Vermont and Past member of the National Council of American Lung Association, 6 years.
Bob is survived by his wife Bertie whom he made laugh all their loving years together. He also leaves behind his son Scott O'Grady of Lake Groton, VT, and his brother Michael O'Grady of Manhattan New York.
Other special people in his life, two children by his marriage to Bertie, a son John Wooding and his wife Michelle, and a daughter Tricia Pattison and her husband Rick, and five grandchildren (Chris,Ashley,Dylan,Casey,Corey) who just doted on Grampa Bob.

Friends may express their love of Bob to Bertie at an continental breakfast, to be held at the Atlantis Golf Club, 301 Orange Tree Drive, Atlantis, Florida.
Calling hours will be held this summer, Friday, July 11th, from 6-8 PM at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier and a Memorial service 7:00pm.
