Obituary

Peacham Pond, VT/Sebring, FL Robert Andrew Franklin left this world and the many he loved and was loved by, on October 1,2010, after fighting cancer for many years. He is now wrapped safely and free of pain in his loving Lord's arms, our Savior, whom he loved, honored, and cherished his entire life. Bob, as he was known to all, was married for 55 years to a loving and devoted wife Aileen, who was never away from his side except when he was defending our great country. Bob, a retired Lt. Colonel and fighter pilot in the Air Force for 30 years, served his family and country proudly, including active combat service in Vietnam. To all who served with him he was a hero, to the family he leaves behind, he will always be a hero. Bob was born on February 4, 1929 in Baldwin, NY, the youngest of 4 children to Louis H. & Josephine Beatrice (Reid) Franklin. Bob earned his B.A. at Adelphi University in New York and his M.A. at the University of Northern Colorado. He was a resident of Peacham Pond and Sebring, FL. Bob was predeceased by an infant child, Alicia. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Aileen M. Franklin (nee Pyne), and six children; Andrew A. Franklin and his wife Bonnie, Marie J. Franklin, Jeanette Barber and her husband Cecil, Therese Franklin and her husband Robert, Catherine DeVito and her husband Matthew and Christopher Franklin and his wife Michele. He is also survived by six grandchildren. Bob was pre-deceased by his siblings; Jeanne, Girard, and Louis Franklin. There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Marshfield.
