Worcester; Robert (Bob) Evans Blanchard 73 died on December 23, 2010 after suffering several strokes. Bob was born in Windsor, VT on May 22, 1937 and leaves his wife of 49 years, Barbara Hamner Blanchard and sons Christopher of Palmer MA, Jonathan Lee of Worcester, VT Robert Evans, Jr. of Hartland, VT and his sister, Betty Blanchard Michael of North Ferrisburg, VT.
Bob leaves 5 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Col. Weston L. Blanchard and Ila Blow Blanchard.
Bob spent most of his life living all around the United States, one year in Hawaii and one year in Istanbul, Turkey with his animals and in and around the automotive business. Bob always had pets ranging from dogs and cats to horses , beef cattle and baby raccoons as attested to in photographs. His life in the automotive field included wrenching, owning a gas station, a peed shop, selling speed equipment all over New England out of New Jersey, and automobile sales.
Bob loved to play polo and fox hunt on his favorite horse, target shoot competitively and his native State of Vermont. Bob lived his life to the fullest and as he chose.
Burial will be scheduled in the Spring in Windsor, Vermont and a celebration of his life is being planned for May 29, 2011 at his home.
