Obituary

Richard E. Haldane

Washington, VT

Richard E. Haldane passed away unexpectedly at his home in Washington, VT on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the day after turning 36 years old.

Richard was born on February 10, 1989, to Roslyn and Scott Haldane in Framingham, MA. Shortly after Richard was born, his family moved to Vermont.

At a very young age, Richard had no fear in life. He was always a daredevil in everything he did, whether it was snowboarding, dirt bike riding, or life in general. He was a class clown and loved to make everyone around him laugh. He always had a joke or two to tell. When he walked into a room, his smile was infectious and attracted the shyest person to want to be in his presence. He had a light to his spirit that brightened anyone lucky enough to spend a moment with him. His love for his mother was only surpassed by his love for his children. He lived for his children and protected them fiercely with his whole being. The day he became a father was the best day of his life.

Richard was a strong, vibrant young man taken too soon from this world. His spirit has touched so many individuals from all walks of life. Richard was filled with random acts of kindness that will forever resonate with those closest to him. His smile will forever brighten the darkest day.

Richard is survived by his children, Patrick Haldane, Kamayla Haldane, Jonah Stelzl, Camden Baldwin, Ricardo Haldane, Sloane Walls, and Jackson Walls. His parents, Roslyn and Scott Haldane of Washington, VT; his sister and her partner Ashley Haldane and Eric Rosa of Washington, VT; grandmother, Roberta Huggins of Holliston, MA; his niece and nephew Rylee Rosa and Jose Rosa and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Robert Garnett of Holliston, MA, his grandfather Richard Haldane of Barre Town, VT and his grandmother, Georgia Brock of Barre, VT; and his nephew Damien Rosa.

Arrangements are in the care of Guare and Sons Funeral Home of 30 School Street in Montpelier, VT.
