Richard F. Fleury, Sr., 70, of East Hill Road, and a resident of Middlesex for over 42 years, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born on April 10, 1939 in Montpelier the son of Bernice (Shatney) Fleury and Everett "Paul" Fleury. Richard attended local schools and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1957. Following high school he served in the Vermont Army National Guard. He married Kathleen M. Callahan on September 9, 1961 in Richmond. They have 6 children together and 7 grandchildren. Mr. Fleury worked for the former H.A. Hubbard Oil Company, Seguin Heating Oil, and for several years he was a self-employed logger. He later worked for Foti Fuels of Montpelier and Farrell Distributing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. Richard will always be remembered for his tales about his hunting adventures with his dad, uncles, cousins and brother-in-law. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of Middlesex; daughter, Rachel Wielebski and her husband Ronald, of Milwaukee, WI; sons, Richard Jr., and his wife, Heidi of Plainfield; Jason and his wife, Cathi of Barre; Patrick and his wife, Angela of Northfield; Henry and Matthew both of Middlesex; grandchildren, Shane, Tyler and Dakota Fleury of Plainfield; Katie Fleury of Barre and Stephen, Ronald Raymond and Andrew Wielebski of Milwaukee. Richard is also survived by a sister, Paulette Guyette of Northfield; brothers, Donald of Montpelier, Peter of Middlesex and Michael of Barre and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 28, 2009, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. There will be no calling hours.
