Obituary

WARREN-Rhonda Komulainen, age 67, passed away on July 23, 2026 at Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing in Berlin, Vt where she lived for the last two and a half years. Born in Boston, Mass on March 22, 1959 to the late Aarne and Ramona (Grover) Komulainen, Rhonda loved animals, crafting, bingo and the Boston Red Sox. She also had the knack of remembering people’s names and loved talking to people. Rhonda was especially proud to have graduated from Springfield (Vt) High School and worked as a receptionist for Upper Valley Services in Moretown, Vt. Rhonda spent twenty years living with her best friend, Mary Laulis, in Warren, Vt before being admitted to Woodridge.

Rhonda is survived by three brothers: Rodney Grover (Eleanor) of Essex Junction, Vt, Richard (Claire) Komulainen of East Greenbush, NY, and Wayne (Peyton) Komulainen of Tavares, Florida; and numerous nephews and nieces. Rhonda is predeceased by brother, Frank Komulainen of Parkville, Md, and sister, Donna Komulainen of New Mexico.

Rhonda had a great support team of friends who kept her company and supplied her with treats during the last weeks of her life. Special thanks go to Mary Laulis, MaryJane Blouin and all the staff at Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing .

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering for Rhonda from 11:00 to Noon on Wednesday, August 5, at Guare and Sons Funeral Home, 30 School St in Montpelier.
