East Montpelier, VT Cynthia A. Reed, 65, of Route 2 in East Montpelier died unexpectedly on Monday, January 29, 2018 at her home. She was born in Marshfield, VT on June 27, 1952, the daughter of Gordon and Eunice Currier. She attended schools in Plainfield and Marshfield and later attended St. Monicas Catholic School. She was married but had recently divorced. Cindy worked primarily as a LNA for Berlin Health & Rehab. She later worked as a cook for the Montpelier Meals on Wheels. She was an avid collector and loved to go to yard sales, where she could be found rummaging to find her next treasure. She loved lighthouses and coloring. Cindy always put her grandchildren and great granddaughter before herself and enjoyed spending time and having meals with them at the Wayside or China Moon Restaurant. She also loved holidays with her grandchildren. She was known for baking and handing out her baked goods to family and friends. Survivors include her grandchildren; Dakota Melkonian and her husband Shaun of Barre, Eijah Reed, Alyssia Luman ,Taylor Luman, Hayden Luman, and Paetyn Luman all of Montpelier; great granddaughter, Savannah Melkonian of Barre; siblings, Helen Wilder of Montpelier, Gordon "Joe" Currier of Tennessee, and Eunice Donaldson of Florida, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both parents, her sister Marilyn Shaw, her two sons, Lawerence Reed Jr. and Justin Reed. Also, a grandson Justin Vasseur-Reed. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on February 7th at 11:00 am at Guare & Sons Funeral Home in Montpelier. A gathering will follow at Cindys home in East Montpelier.
