Montpelier, VT Raelene Swasey Aldrich, 89, of Heaton Woods, died on Monday, November 17, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 2, 1925 in East Ryegate, VT, the daughter of Tracy and Arlene (Jennison) Swasey. She attended Montpelier Public Schools and graduated from Montpelier High School's class of 1943. She later attended Antioch College in Ohio. In 1946, she married Guy Aldrich. Mr. Aldrich predeceased her in 1982. Although she was primarily a home maker, she did enjoy her work as a children's librarian while living in Tustin CA. She was a member of the Old Meeting House Church in East Montpelier Center. She and her family were especially thankful for the wonderful and compassionate care that she received for the past eleven years while living at Heaton Woods. Survivors include her daughters; Charlene Aldrich of Milton, VT and Bethany Ratasiewicz of Kennett Square, PA; grandchildren, Heather Leak of Germany, Amanda Ratasiewicz of Pasadena, MD, Lyndsey Ratasiewicz of West Chester, PA, Sarah Steinmetz of Austin, TX, and Patrick Lebo of Vermont. She was predeceased by her daughter, Rinda Lebo formerly of Tustin, CA; two brothers, Hamilton Swasey and Richard Swasey. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Old Meeting House Church in East Montpelier Center, VT.
