Priscilla "Patti" Ruggles,, 73, of Montpelier, surrounded by her family, passed away November 17 at Berlin Health and Rehabilitation in Berlin, Vermont.
Born April 14, 1939 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, she was the daughter of Claire Emily Nichols Carleton and Sherman Richard Devereaux and was adopted by Walter Goss at a young age.
She was married to Roy Parkhurst who predeceased her and they had two sons and two daughters. On June 9, 1996, Patti married the love of her life, Harold E. Ruggles in Barre and they made their home in Montpelier. Patti loved to square dance, attend Project Independence, spend time with family and friends, and work puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, her daughter, Diane Johnston of Concord NH, her son, Walter Parkhurst of Concord NH, her daughter Vicki Davidson and husband, Bill of Ossippee NH, son Stephen Parkhurst of Center Conway NH, two brothers-in-law, Don Ruggles and Francis Ruggles of Montpelier, a sister-in-law, Lucy Frasier and husband, Bob of Colchester, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her mother, father, step-father, two sisters, Frances & Carolyn, son-in-law Richard Johnston, and granddaughter, Heidi Johnston.
Graveside services will be held at the North Hyde Park Village Cemetery at 11am on November 24.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Pioneer Apartments at 2pm on November 24.
