East Montpelier, VT Phyllis C. Martin, 64, of Barnes Road in East Montpelier entered into eternal joy on Friday, July 10, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chelsea, MA on July 8, 1951, the daughter of David and Anne (Archibald) Goodrich. She graduated from Peabody High School in 1969. She then attended Bunker Hill Community College. After putting her education on hold for several years, Phyllis later graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the Vermont College in 2001. On June 26, 1981, she married Richard Martin in Medford, MA. She worked as a manager of Human Resources for the Department of Public Safety. She and her husband were communicants of St. Augustine's Catholic Church. They both became members of Notre Dame de Vie in October 2014. This is a spiritual family in the Church based on Carmelite spirituality and prayer. Survivors include her husband, Richard Martin of East Montpelier; son, David Martin of San Diego, CA; daughter, Anna Martin of San Diego, CA; mother, Anne Goodrich of Waterbury, VT; sister, Anne Kinley and her husband Tom of Waterbury, VT; in-laws, Dan and Sharon Martin of Calais, VT; Rex and Susie Martin of Boca Raton, FL, and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and a brother, Glenn Goodrich. Calling hours will be held 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Guare & Sons Funeral Home in Montpelier. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Montpelier. Committal prayers will follow at Doty Cemetery in East Montpelier, VT.
