Obituary

Paulette Lila Pulsifer, 66, of Barre Street, Montpelier died unexpectedly, Friday, September 30, 2011 at her home in Montpelier. She was born in Alburgh, VT on March 31, 1945 the daughter of Doris (Secore) and Clarence Curtis. Paulette received her education in schools in Alburgh and Montpelier and attended Montpelier High School. Paulette was married to James Milton Pulsifer at their home in Montpelier on June 24, 1972. Paulette worked as a nurse's aid at the former Friot Nursing Home on Barre Street as well as the former Heaton House. For many years she was a Daycare provider at her home and also a Home Care Provider for mental health clients. Paulette enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and friends. Her interests were knitting, cross stitching, quilting, playing card games and hosting catalog parties (candle lite especially). She also had a love of animals (2 dogs, 7 cats, 2 birds, and a ferret). Paulette was excited that she met and was looking forward to getting to know her great grand nephew Warren. She is survived by her husband, James of Montpelier; three daughters, Tammy Pulsifer and companion Ashton Drown of Graniteville, VT; Tina (Pulsifer) Ricker and husband Ryan of Corinth, VT; and Ann Pulsifer of Montpelier; three grandchildren, Paxton & Kevin Ricker and Samantha Drown. She is also survived by a sister, Paula Curtis of Montpelier; three brothers, Ricky Curtis of Barre, VT; Reid Curtis of Moors, NY; and Rene Curtis of South Hero, VT; several nieces & nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and two great grand nephews. Paulette was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Bernard Barcomb and sister, Joyce Barcomb. Family and friends are invited to Vermont College of Fine Arts, Noble Hall in Montpelier for calling hours on Wednesday, October 5th from 4-8 pm with a memorial service beginning at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ronald MacDonald House, 16 South Winooski Ave., Burlington, VT 05401 or to Vermont Heart Association, 312 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
