Patricia Ann (Hudson) Merriam died January 11, 2010, at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin, VT. Pat was born on June 3, 1933 in Clifton Springs, New York to Milton and Mary (Manion) Hudson. She attended schools in Shortsville and Manchester, New York and graduated from Red Jacket High School in Manchester. She worked at C.W. Stuart Company and Jackson and Perkins Roses in Newark, NY where she met and married Wesley A. Merriam . They adopted three children; Robert of Girard, PA, Thomas of Chaska, MN and Lisa of San Clemente, CA. Pat enjoyed knitting, rug hooking, ceramics, and traveling all over VT with Wes filing and retrieving documents at town and city clerks, court clerks and the VT Secretary of State Office. She was predeceased by her parents and brother John Francis Hudson who was lost on the submarine Thresher when it sank off Cape Cod in 1963. She is survived by her husband, her children and her sister Margaret Johnson of Phelps, New York. Pat went back to school in her forties and became an LPN. She worked at the Sundance Clinic in Shakopee, MN and later for Washington County Mental Health in Barre, VT. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Woodridge Nursing Home on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2:00 pm. A committal prayers will be held at the Green Mount Cemetery in Montpelier.
