Obituary

Nettie, nickname "Nettles", Patricia Cacicio, 82, long time resident of the Blanchard Block, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Berlin Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Montpelier on November 21, 1927, the daughter of Michael and Victoria (Gecco) Cacicio. She attended Montpelier Elementary School. For thirty years she worked for Reddy Plastic Company as a mold operator. After her retirement, she worked part time for Heney Reality as a custodian until the age of 80. She helped maintain different apartment buildings in Montpelier including the Blanchard Block. She was known for growing sunflowers behind the Blanchard Block in Montpelier and was once featured in an article in the Times Argus. She was known by many as a "spitfire". A quality that many people were fond of. Survivors include a sister, Irene Atkinson of Hudson, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Norma Morse, Diane Eilena Morse, Sylvia Johnson, Delia Martin, Olga Martin, Michael Cacicio, and Joseph Cacicio. A funeral service will be held 11:00 on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Guare and Sons Funeral Home. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 am. Committal prayers will be offered immediately following the service at the Berlin Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Berlin Health and Rehab Center, 98 Hospitality Drive, Barre, VT 05641.
