Nancy Ellen Gove, 87, of Upper Elm Street, Montpelier, died suddenly Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Central Vermont Medical Center.
She was born in Barre, Vermont on July 25, 1930, the daughter of George & Abbie Ann (Putney) Boisvert
Nancy attended schools in Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in the class of 1948.
She married Dennis E. Gove on September 13, 1952 at St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre.
Nancy worked for many years for the State of Vermont, Agency of Natural Resources, Water Resources Division. She retired in 1951.
Nancy was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Donald. She was involved with his activities from his early childhood years to his business, Pearl Street Motors. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager. The business started on Pearl Street in June 1972, and later moved to Elm Street in 1977. Pearl Street Motors closed in February 2018.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Nancy enjoyed gardening and loved being a part of Dons Go-Kart Racing. She was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, enjoyed Stock Car racing at various levels especially at Barres Thunder Road and watching NASCAR. Nancy was honored with a Third Place Award for her oil paintings at the Barre Side Walk Art Show, July 17-18, 1980 that was sponsored by the Paletters.
Nancy is survived her son, Donald of Montpelier. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis on May 23, 2014, sister, Lorraine LaPoint and two brothers, Harold and Richard Boisvert.
She will be buried with her husband at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center at a later time.
