Mona Jacqueline Copeland, 64, of Montpelier, but most recently of the Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton, VT, died on Friday, May 25, 2018.
She was born on January 20, 1954, in Barre, VT, the daughter of Wayland "Rocky" Copeland and Rejane (Gosselin) Murphy. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1972.
Mona was a long time resident of Montpelier after an injury she received as a result of a traffic accident in 1975. She moved to the Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton in 2001. In her youth, she was known as the class clown which carried on throughout her life. She loved joking and being funny with other residents and care givers of Maple Lane.
Survivors include her mother, ReJane Murphy of DeLand, FL; step mother, Rita Copeland of Plainfield, VT; sisters, Paula Morgan of Colchester, VT, Fran Spaulding of East Barre, VT, Ruth Zimmerman of Orange City, FL, and Michelle Gagnon of Fairfax, VT; Jay Copeland of Plainfield VT, Kevin Copeland of Plainfield VT, Cory Copeland of Waits River VT, Timothy Copeland of East Barre VT and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Rocky Copeland; and step-father, Bob Murphy.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Berlin Corners Cemetery.
