Mildred (Noble)Ibey, 88, formerly of Maplewood Ave., Barre died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Woodridge Nursing Home.
She was born in Fairhaven, MA on February 16, 1924, the daughter of Horace & Sarah (Munroe) Noble and attended schools in Cabot, Vermont.
Mildred was married to Harold Devins in Cornith, VT in 1940. They had a daughter, Linda. Mildred later married Gardner E. Ibey in East Montpelier on August 31, 1980. Mr. Ibey predeceased her on April 26, 2008.
Millie worked for many years as Activities Director at Project Independence in Barre, the Berlin Health & ReHab Center and also was a Nurse's Aid at Central Vermont Hospital. She assisted her husband with daily activities in the business he founded, Rural Radio & TV. After retirement they made they home in Derby Line and Leesburg, Florida and most recently in Barre. Mildred was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Montpelier.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Linda Eldred of Burlington; two step-daughters, Elaine Ibey of Barre and Susan Ibey of Cabot; three step-sons, Gregory Ibey of Plainfield; DeWayne Ibey of Berlin and Andrew Ibey of East Montpelier; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Lorraine MacLeod of Barre; brother, Ernest Noble of Gaylord, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband and a brother, Edward Noble.
A Memorial Service led by Rev. Paul Habersang will be held at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier on Sunday, August 12th at 1:30 PM.
Burial will follow the service at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Route 14, North Montpelier Village.
