January 29, 1962 – February 22, 2025
South Barre, VT
Michael Brian Kennison, 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home he shared with his best friend Daryl Belville in South Barre, VT. He and Mike had been friends for many years and had many adventures together. Daryl is very lost now and will cherish all the memories they shared. Thank you, Daryl, for being a great friend to him.
Michael served in the United States Army, mostly in Korea until his honorable discharge in 1982. Mike worked as a mechanic and a carpenter by trade but was unable do to due to illness in recent years. Mike had a passion for NASCAR racing all his life. Dale Earnheart was his and his father's favorite driver until his fatal racing accident. Mike continued watching racing every Sunday until the end.
Michael leaves behind a daughter, Ashley Fagnant and her husband Jonas of Hyde Park, VT; and his son, Scott Kennison of Queensbury, NY. He also leaves behind 2 sisters, Linda Kennison of Enosburg Falls, VT and Diana Brooks of Worcester, VT, and a brother, Calvin Kennison of Northfield, VT and half-brother Robert Kennison of Schenectady NY. He leaves behind Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. He also leaves behind many close friends he had fond memories with.
Michael is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie Kennison; his brothers Scott and Jerry Kennison; and his parents, Vernon and Marjorie Kennison. Michael fought illness for a long time and the good lord called him home. He is now at peace and can finally rest. He will be dearly missed. Fly high Michael, you finally got your wings.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Ashley will update everyone on a timeline. We will always love you, Michael. Thank you for all the memories we all got to share with you. Enjoy the big race in the sky.
