Michael Bernard Brooks, 67, formerly of Montpelier, but most recently from Conroe, TX, died on May 2, 2013 in Lonoke, Arkansas.
He was born on January 14, 1946 in Newport, VT, the son of Bernard and Antoinette (Beauchesne) Brooks.
He began his education in Newport, VT and later in Montpelier Public Schools. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1964. He then attended the Franklin Institute of Boston.
He was a member of the Vermont National Guard from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971.
He worked as a computer consultant, installing computers systems for auto body shops. His worked required him to travel extensively around the country.
While living in Montpelier, Michael was a member of the local Corvette owners club.
Survivors include his adopted children, Brittney Brooks of Arkansas and Mitchell Brooks of Conroe, TX. He is also survived by his mother, Antoinette Brooks of Montpelier and a sister, Diana Hovey of Defiance, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Arkansas. Committal prayers will be offered at the St. Edward's Cemetery in Derby Line, VT at a later date.
