South Barre, VT Michael Bell, Sr. 58 of South Barre, VT, passed away on October 14, 2019 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT after a successful surgery but resulting in Pneumonia. Mike was born on January 26, 1961, the son of Ronald and Evelyn Bell of Barre, VT. On September 23, 1980, Mike married Sheila Kelty, daughter of Stephen and Betsy Kelty of East Barre, VT. Sheila predeceased him on June 8th, 2019. Together they had two children, son, Michael Bell, Jr and his companion, Megan Sepe; Step granddaughter, Aubreigh; and Mike, Jrs children, Alex, Caleb, Jonathan, and Brittnee; and daughter, Sherri Ann Carpenter and her husband Joe, and their children, Conner, Markus, and Nathan. Mike is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Bell; his sisters, Pamela Loso and her husband Clayton, Judy Garrett and her husband Dan, and Robin Bell; brothers, Bruce Bell and his wife Lynne, and Brian Bell and his wife Tammy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mike had worked for many years at Huntington Home in East Montpelier, VT. Mike loved most sports and played Baseball, Softball, and Bowled on many teams. He also enjoyed fishing with his family, playing guitar, and woodworking. He especially loved watching Alex and Caleb play football, Markus singing as well as watching his favorite NFL team, the Indianapolis Colts on TV, and the company of his Poodle, Aidan. A potluck celebration of his life will take place at the VFW Post 792, 1 Pioneer Street, Montpelier, VT from 4:00-7:00 pm on November 3, 2019.
