Mary Concetta (Bruno) Quesnel, 95, a resident of Montpelier, Vermont for 89 years, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Pleasant View Health Care Center, Concord, NH. Born October 1, 1913 in Montpelier , she was the daughter of George and Virginia (DiPasquale) Bruno.
She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1931. She worked for a few years at Maunsell's Office Equipment, and then for 18 years as a hostess/mixologist in the Victorian Lounge in the Pavilion Hotel and later in the Justin Morgan Room in the Montpelier Tavern.
She enjoyed taking care of her home and her family. She was an excellent pianist and entertained her friends on many occasions singing at parties, telling jokes, and making people happy. She loved to dance and play cards.
She married Raymond Quesnel on July 1, 1933 in St. Augustine Church in Montpelier . They enjoyed 54 years of marriage together. He predeceased her in 1987. Also predeceased are a sister, Lena Ingellis, three brothers, Rocco Bruno, Ernest Bruno and John Bruno; a son, Carl R. Quesnel; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Carlene McManis and her husband Richard of Concord, N.H.; and two sons, Stephen Quesnel and his wife Lynda of Torrington, Connecticut and John Quesnel and his wife Linda of Falmouth Mass. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Church.
Burial will follow at Green Mount Cemetery .
Friends may call at the Guare and Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street , Montpelier , Vermont on Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
