Berlin, VT Marilyn Roberts Morey, 86, passed away after a long illness and is at peace visiting and embracing the friends and family that went before her. Marilyn was born in Montpelier, VT on August 11, 1932. She graduated from Montpelier High School in the class of 1950. She then worked for Sprague Electric for many years before moving to Texas where she spent 20 years before coming home to Vermont. Marilyn worked for the North End Deli for a few years, and was affectionately known as "Bump and Run" After her retirement Marilyn volunteered at the Benefit Shop, Lincoln House and was on the go with many close friends until she was no longer able to drive. Marilyn was married to Sydney Nelson, Sr. He predeceased her. She later married Arthur Morey in 1972. While living in Texas, Marilyns passion was the Houston Oilers, where she became their "Mom" and was president of the Fan Club for years. She could be found routing for the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots as well. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her family and dear friends as always having a smile for each and every one of them. Family and friends were her delight, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Her last few years were difficult and their visits always brought sunshine and light to her day. Special thoughts are shared to her second family in Chelsea who she had spent numerous years of laughter and closeness with and created wonderful memories for her. She is survived by her daughter; Sharon Martin and her husband Dan of Calais, VT; her brother, Earl Roberts and his wife Janne (Breer) Roberts of Connecticut, her beloved grandchildren, Brittany Nelson, Zach Nelson and his wife, Kenzie Nelson, and Hunter Nelson; her daughter in law, Catherine Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Kalynn and Joan for being wonderful companions and keeping her company during these last years at the Berlin Health & Rehab. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for Marilyn their greatest gratitude.
