Marie W. Eaton died on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019 at Gifford Medical Center with her husband at her side. She was 78 years old. Marie was born in Barre City, Vermont on April 11, 1941, the daughter of Orin Farnham and Bertha (Hutchinson) Farnham. She grew up in Washington, VT with her sister and three brothers. Marie married Edward Eaton in Williamstown on May 22, 1976. They spent their married life in Williamstown where Marie worked as a para- professional educator in the Williamstown School District. She retired in 2006 after 20 years of service. Marie was an avid reader who loved feeding the birds and working in her flower gardens while keeping a close watch for beautiful dragonflies. She enjoyed summer vacations on the coast of Maine. Most of all Marie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Julie Goodrich Quinn, granddaughter Lauren Marie Goodrich, daughter-in-law Carol Goodrich, and brothers Sherwood, Lloyd, and Paul Farnham. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 43 years, who faithfully stood by her side through her struggles with Alzheimers. Marie also leaves three sons: Christopher (Carrie) Eaton of Williamstown, George L. Goodrich III (Julie), Todd Goodrich of Northfield, and three daughters: Jill Goodrich, Sherri Brickey (Barry) of Northfield, Jennifer Seaver (Paul) of Essex, 13 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her very special friends Carol and Royce Griffith, as well as her sister Marilyn Gagne. In keeping with her wishes, a private memorial service for Marie was held at Guare & Sons Funeral Home in Montpelier, VT followed by a burial at the East Orange Cemetery.
