Barre, VT
Marcia St. Cyr, 76, a longtime resident of North Calais and more recently of North Barre Manor died December 1, 2011 at Woodridge Nursing Home.
She was born in Barre City on August 6, 1935, the daughter of Roy & Marion (Martin) Lilley. She attended schools in Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1954.
Marcia was married to Ervin "Bud" St. Cyr on July 2, 1955 in the Old West Church in Calais. For many years they lived on the North Calais Road and they had three children together, Janis, Cheryl and Vincent.
Marcia worked at the former Woolen Mills in North Montpelier and at the Barre Capacitor plant and retired after 20 years with Sprague Electric. After her retirement she worked as a home care giver for many residents in the Central Vermont area. In her earlier years, Marcia enjoyed hunting and fishing. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and crafting with her friends.
She is survived by a son, Vincent St. Cyr of Conroe, TX; two granddaughters, Jenna St. Cyr of Montpelier and Darian St. Cyr of Conroe, TX; two grandsons, Dana and Shane Howard of Johnson, VT; and three great grandchildren.
Marcia is also survived by a sister, Judith V. Cookson and her husband, Chester of East Montpelier; brother, Doug Lilley of Calais, VT; brother-in-law, Robert Thomas of Barre and sisters-in-law, Beverly Lilley of Indiana; Lorraine Chase of Randolph, VT; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two children, Janis Howard; an infant daughter Cheryl; her husband, Bud; sister, Marilla Thomas; brother, Roderick Lilley.
A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7th at Guare & Sons Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 2:00 until the hour of the memorial service.
