Montpelier, VT Madeline E. Valentine, 88, of Moonlight Terrace, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Berlin Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Randolph, VT on March 12, 1924, the daughter of John and Eleanor (Wright) Hamilton. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1942. On November 11, 1960, she married Samuel R. Valentine in Montpelier. Mr. Valentine predeceased her on July 3, 1993. Madeline worked for the State of Vermont Department of Agriculture and retired from there in 1984 after 40 years of service. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Rob Morris Order of the Eastern Star #22, Central Vermont Humane Society, and the retired Vermont State Employee Association. Survivors include a stepson, Kenneth Valentine of Lebanon, NH and a brother- in- law, Leonard Church of Johnsonville, NY; step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Madeleine was predeceased by her sister, Gwendolyn Church on March 5, 2008. A private funeral service was held at Guare & Sons Funeral Home. Burial was in the Green Mount Cemetery.
