Madeline Joanne Forrand, 81, of Main Street, Montpelier died unexpectedly Thursday, August 26th at her home.
She was born in Northfield, VT on March 12, 1929 the daughter of the late Edward Fred Relation & Florence Mae (Riley) Relation. Madeline attended schools in Northfield and graduated from Northfield High School in 1947.
In 1952, she married Everett Dukette and they had two children, Mary Jo and Nancy.
Madeline later married Oliver S. Forrand on November 21, 1969 in Northfield.
Madeline worked for National Life Insurance, Northfield Woolen Mills and 23 years for Blue Cross-Blue Shield and in 1993 she was honored the 2nd runner up Carol L. Goodrich award. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Court St. Augustine # 976 of Catholic Daughters.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of her family. She was an avid Red Sox and Celtic fan. Some of her favorite things were being on the computer, photography, listening to music and going out to lunch with special girl friends. Because of her Irish grandfather she loved everything GREEN and her dream was to go to Ireland (that dream will come true).
She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Oliver, of Woodridge Nursing Home; two daughters, Mary Joanne Dukette of Montpelier and Mrs. Nancy Tassey and her husband, Scott of Calais, VT; granddaughter, Mrs. Kristin Darcy and her husband, Michael of Roslindale, MA; two great granddaughters, Ella & Lily Darcy of Roslindale, MA; two grandsons Scott D Tassey and Mathew Tassey of Calais, VT; many nieces and nephews and several Godchildren.
Madeline was pre-deceased by her siblings, Francis, Leslie, John, William Relation, Lenore Blouin and her niece Linda Blouin.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, August 30th, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 16 Barre Street, Montpelier.
Burial will follow in the family lot at Calvary Cemetery in Northfield, VT. There will no calling hours.
