MONTPELIER: Mabel F. Prince, 98, formerly of Independence Green in Montpelier, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.
She was born in Lynn, MA on July 17, 1912 to William and Minnie (Cook) Prince. She graduated from high school in Springfield, MA, was employed at Westinghouse and Monarch Life Insurance Company and attended the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She moved to Montpelier in 1988.
Mabel loved vacationing on the coast of Maine at the small community of Ocean Park. She visited there almost every summer starting in the 1920's
Mabel is survived by her brother, Clarence Prince of Dunedin, FL; niece Pam Wardlow of Wathena, Kansas; nephew Gary Prince of MA; nephew-in-law, Richard Turner of Montpelier; and her close friend, Joan DenBleyker of Springfield, MA.
A graveside service will be held at the Perryville Cemetery in Dudley, MA at a later date.
