Mabel A. Luce, 68, of Worcester Village died at her home on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. She was born in Northfield, VT on September 2, 1940 the daughter of George and Mildred (Matott) Eli. Mabel attended St. Michael's Schools in Montpelier. She married Herbert F. Luce, Jr. On May 15, 1960 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Mabel enjoyed family functions and gatherings. She loved working on word search puzzles and crocheting. Mabel spent many hours making afghan and lap blankets for family and friends. She was recognized by the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington for the many lap blankets she made for them. She had fond loved for her cats, especially Lightning. She is survived by her husband, Herbert of Worcester, VT; son, Howard M. Luce of Marshfield, VT and three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew. Mabel is predeceased by her parents and two sister, Ann Lesure and Phyllis Davis. A memorial grave side service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22nd, at Worcester Mountain Cemetery, Worcester, VT. There will be no calling hours.
