Obituary

Montpelier, VT Lumina, "Mimi", Leslie Brown, 82, formerly of Macey Road in Middlesex, VT and most recently of Bronson Fl, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July 18, 2013, quietly at home in Bronson, FL. She was born on August 4, 1930, in Hardwick, VT, the daughter of Servand Andre LeBlanc and Hosanna (Bessette) LeBlanc. Lumina attended the Center Road school in Hardwick and St Michaels High School in Montpelier. She was a graduate of the class of 1948. After graduation she attended Lyndon Teachers College. Later in her life she returned to Vermont College and Trinity College where she received a Bachelors of Arts Degree. On September 8, 1951, she married Glenn W. Leslie of Montpelier, VT. They later divorced. She married Robert Brown of Derry NH on Sept 7, 2006 and moved to Bronson. FL. Mimi worked at Vermont Life Magazine and for many years was the administrator of the Gary Home in Montpelier VT until her retirement. Mimi was a member of many local civic organizations including, Catholic daughters of America, VFW post #792, American Legion post #3, The Loyal Order of Moose Club #1391 and St Augustine Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert Brown, her children, Eileen Corti and Harry Monti of Lake Wales, FL, Sarah Blair and her husband, Frank of Ocala, FL, Frank Leslie and Debby Hickory of Barre, Cecile Barber and her husband Dana of East Montpelier, Scott Leslie of Barre Town and Haleigh G Chapman and her husband, William of Spokane, WA and by her 5 step-children, Debra Goforth of Ashville, NC, Robert Brown Jr of E Lempster, NH, Michael Brown of Winchester, NH, David Densmore of NH and Diane Dishon of NY. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and very dear friends. Mimi is survived by her sisters, Marie Bilodeau of Rhode Island, Rose Carlson of Zephyrhills, FL Louise Nye of Highgate Center VT, Georgette Giannuzzi of Closter, NJ, and brothers, Joseph LeBlanc of Hinsdale, NH and Vincent LeBlanc of W. Harrison, NY. Lumina was predeceased by her sisters, Dolores Richardson, Claire Ducharme, Lise Airoldi and her brothers Gerard LeBlanc, Zephir LeBlanc, and Emmanuel LeBlanc. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. There will be a Memorial Mass to celebrate Mimi's life at 12 noon, Saturday, August 3rd, at St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. The family would like to thank the Levy County Hospice for the tenderness and loving care given to Mimi during her time of illness.
