Lucille M. Hopkins, 90, formerly of Pioneer Apartments in Montpelier died on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Central Vermont Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born on March 11, 1929, the daughter of Rodney and Beatrice (Dunbar) Kennison. She attended public schools in Fayston and Waitfield.
Lucille was primarily a home maker, however in her earlier years she worked for a number of local business including, Northfield Wood Products, Rowan Court Nursing Home, and Sunshine Cleaners.
She married Francis Hopkins in Lowell, MA. Mr. Hopkins predeceased her on May 29, 2003.
Her hobbies include crocheting and knitting, Bingo, and Bowling. She enjoyed deep sea fishing in Maine and Florida and fresh water fishing on Joes Pond. She often played in local cribbage leagues. Her family and friends will miss her cookies, donuts, and pies. She was a member of St. Augustines Church and the VFW ladies auxiliary.
Survivors include her children; Larry Hopkins of Northfield, Beverly Double of Florida, Kathy Sicely of Barre, Mary Davis of Florida, John Hopkins of North Carolina, Theresa Hopkins of Northfield; sister, Eva Culver of Barre, VT; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Parry; son, Rodney Hopkins; and brother, Robert Kennison.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Berlin Corners Cemetery
